Support and updates for Rover, a free plugin for HomeSeer. Also covers support for my other HomeSeer plugins and code.
A longtime user of HomeSeer, and author of many scripts used in HomeSeer. Long ago I was an influential part of the HomeSeer community, and am responsible in part for a lot of the features that define HomeSeer today. In recent years, changes in how the community is run by new employees of Keware have caused me to withdraw from the community almost entirely. This blog lets me support my products that people still use, all of which are entirely free (except for a small charity donation for Rover Tricks Editor), and source-released.

A number of feature improvement suggestions were posted on the Welcome page and since the blogger software won't let me move comments to a more appropriate page, I'm doing it manually. The Future Plans page has been updated with a current list of requested improvements I am intending to do, to wit:
An option to sort devices alphabetically by name (requested on this thread by chris)
An option to show dimmables only at 25, 50, and 75% instead of by 10s.
An option for a page that shows only devices which are on.
A "mixed" mode (between text and icons) that shows only on/off/dim as icons, but not the device icons themselves.
A few people have asked for Rover interfaces into HSTV, HomeSeer Phone, and similar things. Sorry, at this time I do not plan to expand Rover's scope at all. Rover will never provide a web interface to a web interface (which is what HSTV is); that'd be silly. And I can't really think about making Rover support something like HomeSeer Phone if I don't use it myself and it doesn't fit into the usual devices paradigm of HomeSeer.
Hi
I love using rover, but I can't get some devices on it. Specifically I was hoping to use the devices created by DSC Panel and the Aqualink plug ins. Is there anything I can do to activate these?
If the devices are marked visible and their plugin offers buttons, they should show in Rover. If they don't, but use tricks to provide controls by some non-standard method, then, no, they can't show in Rover.
Hi,
Options should include choice of font size / font name: on old small browsers (320x240), the standard Rover page is still too wide...
